Alex Guarnaschelli
Guarnaschelli was the daughter of Maria Guarnaschelli and John Guarnaschelli. In 1991, she graduated Barnard College with an art studies degree in history. She worked in the American Place restaurant for one calendar year on an hourly wage of minimum from between 1991 and 1991. Guarnaschelli started her journey into the culinary world through watching her mom cook and editing the cookbooks she had written. Guarnaschelli's career began as a sous chef under Larry Forgione. Her son Marc Forgione was the Iron Chef. Guarnaschelli then went on to work at various eateries throughout France as well as Los Angeles. Guy Savoy manages La Butte Chaillot. Guarnaschelli also worked for Daniel Boulud's restaurant named after him and Joachim Splichal's Patina before becoming the executive chef of Butter. She was the executive chef of The Darby restaurant, which closed in the summer of 2003. She chairs the museum's Culinary Council. Guarnaschelli wrote her first cookbook in 2013. "Old School Comfort food What I learned about how cook" includes autobiographical information and the recipes she loves from her books she's modified to her home.
